About the role:
We are looking for an experienced organiser that leads people and resources that are focused on member retention and member recruitment. You will also have input into the unions’ campaign strategies as part of a triumvirate of directors
This role will lead a staff team and work with member leaders:
Building a collaborative planning approach reflecting Mōku te Ao and our campaigning and organising principles
Using data, insights and expertise to develop organising strategies, plans and budget that increase union membership and grow the number of activists and member leaders
Innovating and developing new organising strategies and plans, including contributing to digital organising strategies
Developing and embedding consistent and effective organising disciplines
Overseeing the organising plans of Lead organisers, ensuring alignment and data-driven approaches.
Skills and experience:
Your work is grounded in union values, a commitment to Te Tiriti and the building of workers’ power. We value experience in a union or movement-related campaign role as well as:
Strong experience of managing and coaching colleagues and leading teams
A demonstrated track record in leading significant organising programmes
An ability to use data and insights to develop implement and evaluate organising plans
Significant experience and knowledge of industrial issues, collective agreements, industrial legislation and how it applies to organising.
