Who is eligible?
For all scholarship types:
- You must have been a full financial NZEI Te Riu Roa member for at least one year at the time of application.
- Confirm you will continue to meet the eligibility criteria during the scholarship year.
Scholarships cannot be used to reimburse money already spent on projects or study.
For the ECE and Support Staff Scholarships:
You work at ONE of the following at the time of application:
- A teacher or kaiako employed in an early childhood service of any medium, including puna reo, kōhanga reo and Pasifika settings.
- A support staff worker employed by an early childhood service of any medium, including puna reo, kōhanga reo and Pasifika settings.
- A support staff worker employed in any medium by a primary, area or secondary school, a kura or wharekura.
OR
For the Kia pūmau tonu te reo Māori Scholarship
- You work in Māori-medium or Kaupapa Māori education setting that is registered as delivering Māori immersion education – bilingual unit, rumaki reo, Kura Kaupapa Māori or Kura ā-Iwi.
- Are enrolled in or have applied for a recognised qualification in te reo Māori with a tertiary level provider, wānanga or other.
The Kia pūmau tonu te reo Scholarship is not for members working in ECE services (you can apply for an ECE scholarship.).
