Draft curriculum submission guide coming soon

Keep an eye out on this page for a submission guide on the draft learning areas and wāhanga ako currently under consultation for the New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.

NZEI Te Riu Roa encourages everyone to submit to The Ministry of Education as a strong public education system needs our input.

Consultation closes Friday 24 April at 11:59pm.

Education Sector Joint Statement

We share the widely and deeply held concerns across the education sector regarding significant changes to the curriculum frameworks, the demotion of te Tiriti o Waitangi and mātauranga Māori, the prescriptive nature and unmanageable size of the curricula and the number of errors throughout.

This joint statement was written when unions, peak bodies, principal associations, teachers and academics came together to discuss the curriculum re-writes in March.
