NZEI Te Riu Roa advise that they have received an offer from the Ministry of Education for primary school principals.
The revised offer includes some useful gains that recognise the complexity of small school leadership, improved recognition of the importance of leading the learning of literacy and numeracy, better valuing of specialist school leaders and a new allowance recognising the importance of cultural leadership. The offer also includes pay increases of 6% from 3 July this year as well as two pay increases in 2024 of 3% and 1.8%.
Members will now decide whether to accept or reject the offer in a vote that closes on Thursday 29 June.
